Big Maths is a crucial part of what we do at St Mary's.
The CLIC test is a set of 10 questions involving number.
E.g. The four operations, doubling/halving, multiplying by 10/100, using decimals. Each child works on a CLIC test of a level appropriate to them and when they have achieved full marks for three consecutive weeks will move on to a higher level test, regardless of age or year group. Examples of each level can be found here so you can support your child in their mathematical journey.
BIG MATHS
These are examples of the CLIC tests that we use each week in school. Your child moves through the levels after successfully getting full marks for 3 consecutive weeks. Your child's teacher will be able to tell you the level your child is currently working at if you would like to support them at home. As a rule the expectations are as follows:
Year 1: Levels 6-8
Year 2: 9-11
Year 3: 10-12
Year 4: 13-15
Year 5: 16-18
Year 6: Levels 19 and 20
