Class 2

Today in maths our Year 1 children were discussing the similarities differences between 2D and 3D shapes. 

Year 1 enjoyed playing a board game in phonics today to help them learn the ‘ea’ sound. 

Today in Year 1 we have been subtracting using a number line.

This week in English we have been learning about instructions. Today we talked about Remembrance and made poppy biscuits following a set of instructions. 

This morning in maths Year 1 have been writing some addition and subtraction sentences to make a fact family. 

 Year 2 have written some fantastic Pumpkin Soup stories this week! Well done!

Today in maths Year 1 have been looking at fact families. Today we focused on addition facts to secure our understanding. We used pictorial representations of the part whole model to help us write number sentences. 

Today in art  Class 2 have made their own print motifs and used them to create repeating patterns. 

Today in art we used our rubbings from yesterday to create our own pictures. 

Today in maths Year 1 used hoops and balls to find the missing part. They then wrote number sentences to match their part whole models.

Year 1 have been solving a variety of different addition problems. They have used a variety of methods to help them including the number line, tens frames and the part whole model. 

Today Ms Stretton set Year 1 a challenge ‘How many number bonds to 10 can you find in 5 minutes?’ We had a winning pair. Well done!
