Colour and Collage
In art this term we have been learning about colour and collage. Today we have been collaging our initials using photos of ourselves and our families.
Finding the correct conjunction
In English we have been looking basing our writing on ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’. Today we have been working in pairs to join sentences using the correct conjunction.
A visit from the dental nurse!
Today class one learnt more about caring for teeth. We learnt about food that are good for your teeth, how to brush well and all about visiting the dentist.
Finding a third
In maths today we have been using the concrete resources to find a third of an amount. We worked in pairs to solve the problems.
Does it live on land, in the sea or can it live in both?
Today we have sorted animals and talked about if they live on land, in sea or both! We used great vocabulary like terrestrial, marine and amphibian! We sometimes agreed and disagreed with our friends sorting and changed things along the way.
Uttoxeter Church Walk
We had a brilliant day visiting six different churches in Uttoxeter. We visited an Anglican Church, a Catholic Church, a Methodist Church, a Friends Meeting House, United Reformed Church and finally Renew Church (formerly Uttoxeter Pentecostal Church). We compared similarities and differences in…
Finding a half
In maths today we have been finding a half. We made a pizza and cut it into 2 equal parts. We learnt that 1/2 is one of two equal parts.
Tally Charts
In maths today we created our own ‘Tally Charts’. We collected data on our favourite foods, pets and colours.
A super animal visit from Rodbaston!
Today we met ferrets, a snake, a skink, giant snails and stick insects! We learnt more about them and we got to hold them if we wanted to.





World culture day!

We have spoken a little about different cultures and respecting each other.
We have said hello in lots of different languages, Norah taught us how to count in Spanish and showed us her Spanish learning, we have sang and we are getting ready for a few world culture day…
Phonics outside!
Today Class one had phonics outside. We loved it! We practiced our sounds, read words with no colour and impressed Mrs Coleman-Harris by finding the kidder digraphs and trigraphs, we we write words with sounds in that we know!
Building numbers beyond 10!
We enjoyed taking our maths learning outside today in the sunshine!
We have been starting to learn more about numbers past 10 this week. We used maths equipment to build 10,11,12,13. We talked about the part/whole. Some of us even went beyond 13! One child even found they had made 70 with 7…
