Next half term

What a busy half term it's been! We've had so much fun in Class 2 and we've all learnt so much in the past 2 months. 

Topics for next half term: 

Science - growth and survival - We'll be looking at what we need to survive, and lifecycles. 

Dance and Drama - lifecycles (linking with our science topic).

RE - Incarnation - We'll be reading and retelling the Easter story and thinking about the importance of it for Christians.

History - My Family History - We'll be learning about each other's family history and how things have changed since our grandparents were young. I hoping to invite family members into school to work for a family history project afternoon. I will keep you posted.

Design and Technology - Pizzas - We'll be researching, designing and making healthy pizzas.

PE - Improving our agility and balance.

PSHE - Votes for schools

I will update the blog when we change English and Maths topics, and will post new phonics graphemes when we learn them. Please try to use Education City and Times Table Rockstars (Year 2). White Rose parent workbooks are available to use on the White Rose website. Please ask if you would like a printed copy.

 

PE will continue to be on a Monday and Tuesday. Forest school and dance and drama will continue to be on a Tuesday afternoon and groups will swap. Please send lots of warm clothes for forest school as the weather gets colder/wetter. Children WILL go out in all weathers. 

 

Christmas play

This half term we will prepare and perform our Christmas Play with Class 1. Please keep checking for updates about lines, costumes, dances and tickets.
