Fine motor fun!
We have been building the tiny muscles in our fingers in class one using lots of fine motor equipment! We stretched bands, pinched with the tweezers, twisted pipe cleaners and turned nuts and bolts! What a super way to help our fingers become even stronger!
Creativity in the mud kitchen!
We have loved making soups in our mud kitchen today! We used our creativity and imagination to get very messy making sloppy soups and mud pies!
We love to read!
We love to vote for our favourite story, explain what we can see on the tens frame and count the votes and then all participate in story time! Ask me about what we read today!
We can match!
We have been learning all about matching in reception maths! We have used the words match, alike, same, different, unlike and duplicate to talk about the pairs!
World War I
This week we have started our new topic in history - World War I. We read the poem In Flanders Fields and created our own watercolour paintings inspired by the poem. We hope you like them!

Creating face!
We are having lots of fun learning more about our face and the features on our face! We have been creating faces using facial feature stones and magnets. We have learnt a song all about our facial features. Ask us to sing it when we get home!

Phonics Hunt
We got our Monster Phonics session off to a good start today by working in pairs to hunt for common exception words. We had to read and write down as many words as we could find.
Flower Power
In school this week we have been basing our writing on a book called Flower Power by Caroline Wedd. We also looked at the meaning behind the story and based PSHE sessions on resilience, respect and friendship. We also sketched and planted some flowers.
Flower Power
What a busy week! We have enjoyed reading our whole school text, Flower Power, and doing lots of activities based on the book. We have written poems, done some gardening and did a mini artist study on Van Gogh. We were lucky to meet the author of Flower Power, Caroline Wedd, on Friday to ask lots…
