This week Class One will be thinking about the big question 'what happened to the baby in the manger?'
We will learn about the miracles, teachings and parables that Jesus shared. We will read about how Jesus fed the 5000, how he calmed the seas and how he healed the sick. We will take part in activities related to these miracles such as; making baskets with loaves of bread and fish in, making bread and sharing it with our friends, writing about Jesus, the kind of person he was and how he helped others, and we will also use role playing and small world to retell the parables and miracles.
In Forest school we will build crosses using natural resources that we find. We will also create a piece of class art work that represents one of our core values; Love!
The week will be full of opportunities to discuss our school values, our responsibility to show and be kind, respectful, loving and to treat others equally.
In phonics the Reception children will begin phase 3 phonics. They will learn the sounds j,v,w and x this week. They will continue to learn how to read tricky words and sentences.
Nursery will continue to develop their reading skills through song, rhyme and lots of phase 1 phonics activities and games.
