Comparing by size and comparing amounts!

This week in maths we developed size language and we learnt how to sort and compare size and capacity. We sorted large food and small food for the Gruffalo and the mouse and decided which container to put each characters food in. All of our decisions were based on our amazing understanding of size. We used a variety of size language to describe size and compare by size. We even found out which drink container held the most and least amount of liquid by counting how many bottles were needed to fill the largest bottle and smallest bottle. We then decided which character should have which container for their drink. 

We also compared amounts! We found out who had more, fewer or if the characters had equal amounts of ice cream by placing them into the five frame.
