Class 2

After Christmas we have some exciting topics coming up in Class 2 

In English we will be learning, reading and writing based on Katie in London and writing guides based on Paddington’s Guide to London.

In Maths Year 2 will continue to learn about money and multiplication and division, shape…

Thank you to everyone who came to watch our Christmas Nativity. We really enjoyed performing it in front of you and we hope you enjoyed it. 
 

From Class 2

We had a very exciting afternoon… we received letters from Santa! Have you received one at home yet?

Today we combined English and Art. We followed instructions to make Christmas cards and then evaluated the instructions.

Thank you to all parents and grandparents who came along to our family history afternoon. We had a fantastic time and the children have learnt so much about their families. 

TodY we walked to the post box to post our letters to Santa. Hopefully we’ll hear back from him soon.

We had a great time mastering our balances in PE this week. Great team work shown by all. 

This morning we using purple polishing pens to edit our Pinocchio stories. Then we read them to each other.

We’re ready for our children in need sponsored walk!

Today we story mapped Pinocchio through the classroom and used amazing sentence starters to etell the story to each other. Then we wrote the beginning of the story together as a class. 

Today we decorated and ate our Remembrance Day poppy biscuits.

Today year 2 have been learning to subtraction with exchanging in maths and tomorrow we will learn to exchange using the column method. Any practise you can do at home would be brilliant! It’s such a difficult concept to learn so the more practise the better.
