Shared reading with Class 1
We had a lovely time this afternoon sharing books with Class 1.
Number Lines in the sunshine
In maths this week Year 1 are looking at Place Value with 100. Today we made our own number lines and used them to count forwards and backwards.
Reception Transition
Reception enjoyed coming into Class 2 for some more transition time today. We did a maths lesson where we built numbers on the tens frame and counted objects within 10. We then had a go at recording our answers.
Butterflies
Today we released our butterflies in the school vegetable garden.
They were reluctant to leave us and one even stopped for a rest before it flew off to the bushes.
A taste of Italy
This week we have continued our persuasive writing about Sicily.
To help us find some descriptive words for the food, we sampled some classic Italian food.

Sarah Forbes Bonetta
In history class 2 have have been learning about the life of Queen Victoria's God Daughter Sarah Forbes Bonetta who was rescued from slavery and brought to England. Today we were thinking about her significance in British history and writing down our ideas.
Tens and Ones
In maths today Year 1 have been using concrete resources to partition two digit numbers into tens and ones.
Van Gogh ‘Starry Night’ Pastel Drawings
In Class 4 we having been creating oil pastel drawings of Van Gogh’s ‘Starry’ night.

Butterfly excitement in English
Lots of excitement in English today, two of our butterflies emerged from their chrysalises during the lesson.
We are excited to see the other three emerge.
Anyone peckish
Our lettuce has been grown from seed and today was used for our school dinners. Yummy!
