Today we tidied the gardening area and got the soil ready to begin planting this year’s crops.

We have been learning about the Anglo Saxons.They invaded Britain in AD 406.

Whole class reading
Some of our class have taken part in whole class reading over the past two weeks. We have enjoyed reading Paddington, echo reading, searching for vocabulary in the text and answering questions. Here we are highlighting key vocabulary in the text.
Microscopes
We’re all very excited in St Mary’s at the moment. We’ve borrowed a microscope kit from the Royal Microscopic Society and we can’t wait to use it!

In maths year 2 have been making arrays with counters and trying to work out what the calculations are for each of the arrays.

Nursery have been drawing the characters from the story The Gruffalo! We heard s for snake and had a go at writing the letter for the sound s! Nursery are also working very hard on their name writing development!

Reception learnt about the parable The Seed Sower. We started to talk about the key messages from the story. We then planted our own cress! We are already watching closely to see what happens to the seeds.
